Fernica Marlie

Fernica was from a long line of druids that lived in the forest and kept some sacred knowledge and creatures. She discovered her love and talent for potions when a mysterious man that called himself The Alchemist came along and took her under his wing as her apperentice. Many years passed. Fern grew up and fell inlove with a local bar owner and they got married. She couldn't have children though, no matter how many potions she took but she still lived happily with her husband and continued to learn under The Alchemist. One day, he gave her a final test: Make an Elexir of Youth. It took many tries and many years but she finally succeeded. The Alchemist was proud and she had finally surprassed her master. The whole village had a feast, along with a special wine made by The Alchemist. They all drank and feasted until they got tired. Fern woke up the next night feeling light-headed and..Smaller. The Elexir was missing and she was now a child. Her husband was spasming. She tried every and all healing magic she knew on him but it didn't work and he eventually died on her arms. Something was very wrong. She ran out the door to find every single person she knew on the floor, dying or dead. One person was left standing, other than her. The Alchemist, who had been an old man, now had a youthful body. He looked surprised to see her at first but when questioned of what happened, he simply smiled and told her that the 'wine' they drank was actually a deadly poison, one she somehow survived. The Alchemist gave his student a final test;

"Find and kill me, if you can"

Stuck in her child's body, Fern now travelled the world taking all sorts of jobs and identities ; assassin, advisor and eventually a wandering bar-keeper. All to find the man she once called 'Master' and avenge her village.
